Types of Self-Adhesive Vinyl

Briefly, self-adhesive vinyl is divided into monomeric, polymeric and cast vinyls. Monomeric is the type we use and is perfect for labels and decals and can be applied to flat and slightly curved surfaces. Polymeric vinyls can also be applied to curved surfaces and has a longer lifespan, while cast vinyls are premium vinyls and is the recommended type for corrugated surfaces and vehicle wraps. Cast and polymeric vinyl is also more expensive than the monomeric variety, which is available in clear, metallic and white. The difference between the three types boils down to shrinkage (none with cast vinyls), thickness (cast is thinnest and most flexible) and durabilty (cast has a longer outdoor life). this is reflected in the price per square meter. Obviously, we don't want labels to be ultra thin as they need to be reasonably robust, not too floppy and easily applied by hand. So the monomeric vinyl is best suited for general label and decal production, which is our target market.
