Square label shapes

Square label shapes, even those with rounded corners are not a popular sticker shape. This is probably because rectangular labels do what square labels do but do it better. Nevertheless, that square stickers are least popular is not simply a pragmatic decision. Square labels have greater space for more information than perfectly round or custom shaped labels of the same overall size, so it seems that at some point design shape trumps practicality and business pragmatism. It appears that even the most pragmatic of us prefer curved, rounded or custom shapes to a perfectly square label.
