Full Colour Stickers

Digitally printed stickers and labels are always printed in full color. Even if you only want your sticker to be printed in one colour it will be converted to RGB or CMYK colour. This is not more expensive than printing a 100% black

(or blue, red, green, etc.) as the colour is distributed in RGB or CMYK to make up the single colour.  Even in traditional offset printing, 100% black is mostly used in printing text only.  For example, the sticker sample here looks like it is printed in black only, but it is actually printed in RGB values 35, 31 32.So, the digital printer will always print a single color as CMYK or RGB, depending on your native design settings. This means that the press throws in dots of different colors even though you can't see them with the naked eye. Sometimes, these other color dots are just sparsely sprinkled in the printing. But, when we want a deep black background, your CMYK values might be purposely specified C60%, M2%, Y2% and K100% for a richer, deeper black background.  Should you supply a JPG or PNG file for sticker artwork, printing usually defaults to full colour RGB. Likewise, if you send sticker or label artwork made up in spot Pantone colours, it will need to be converted to RGB.  Pantone colours are specific to offset label printing not digital sticker printing. However, a quick search online will usually yield the closest RGB match to your Pantone code.

NB: The best colour setting for digital label printing on wide format presses is Adobe RGB (aRGB), while digital flexo (labels on a roll) is CMYK.
