Product Labels

Product labels are usually for commercially retailed products and generally incorporate the best elements from both personalized and promotional labels. Product labels are the top dogs in the label printing industry and have to tick a number of boxes to be successful. They have to attract attention, promote a buy and educate the buyer. Product labels can sell or sink your product so when designing product labels, it is always best to consult with a label designer. This doesn't mean simply handing the design over blindly; its your product after-all, but it does mean you need to be open to advice and constructive criticism. Some products will have everything on one main label while other products will have two labels - one to attract attention and promote a sale and the other with a further information or ingredients list. The only advantage to having one product label rather than two is economy; one product label is more cost effective than two. However, if it takes two labels to move your product, trying to crush everything into one label would be counterproductive.

Print Product Label Front

This product, for example, uses two labels - the primary label shown here and an ingredients label. The primary label attracts attention with a bold, relevant graphic and then informs and sells with very clear-cut information, while the secondary label (on the reverse - not shown here) unfolds any additional information about the product.
